The embedded system is brought to the notice of more and more people, and there are many cases in the automobile industry. Just as an attempt, this article introduces the way of designing the hardware and software of electronic speed governor using embedded system. The main content of this article is given as follows:The development and status of electronic speed regulator system for diesel engines are summarized. And also give some introduction to the using of embedded system in automobile industry in the foreign companies. An embedded operating system which is widely used in the foreign companies is briefly described.To the hardware, heavily describe and analyze the signal process of rotational speed, Throttle position, gear rack position and so on in accordance with the circuit fundamental diagram. To every part, the schematic diagrams and the detailed introductions of the chips used in that part are given. To the software, analyze the characteristic the real time embedded operation system VxWorks'kernel, show its advantages through comparing with the other real time embedded OS; while introducing the method to transplant the VxWorks into the CPU in detail, make use of the IDE-Tornado to successfully transplant the VxWorks into the s3c4510;at the same time compose the CAN-bus's driver for the VxWorks based on the uniform top level interface of Reading and Writing; at last, choose the development tool-VC to compose the PC's software for the real-time monitor of the control system.The designing principle of the electronic speed regulator based on embedded system is discussed. And also give introduction to the thoughts of the controlling algorithm, which is used in this system, including the realization of the Fuzzy-logic PID control algorithm. The division of the tasks, and the relation between the tasks are analyzed. This article also compares this method with the traditional way of designing the software for control unit of the electronic speed regulator, to see how it is more convenient than the traditional way.
