For the need of modern aerial and military using, the Helmet-Mounted Displays come into being. To equip the drivers of chariot or airplane, the Helmet-Mounted Display assemble communication device, hearing assistant device,night vision device, infrared detector, high resolution ratio monitor display to put up a system platform. Soldiers can see the whole battlefield clearly, capture the target image in various complicated conditions, and look into onboard weapon information.The inspection system of Helmet-Mounted Displays is used to debug and acceptance test the Helmet-Mounted Displays. This inspection system uses video camera instead of eyes to capture images and analysis the aberration of two fields of view. It cinematize the two displays of Helmet in sequence which light axis should be parallel, and transmit the photos to image processing device to figure out objective and accurate deviation data to provide reference to producing workers. The measurement theory and methods are introduced, the system style design is also offered in the paper. The system of optical design, hardware design and software design are showed in details.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the source and meaning of the project, the present condition and foreground of design of inspection system of Helmet-Mounted Displays all over the world. The second chapter introduces the overall design principles and methods. The measurement parameters and design of reticle are also referred. The third chapter shows the structure of the inspection system, and introduces the instrumentations'index and precision. The forth specifies design of application software project, development platform and excogitation process, including function model of communication between motion controllers and computer base on serial ports, interface of application software, inspect step of inspection system, and methods of images processing. The fifth chapter explains the system installation and debugs methods, analysis experimental results.The inspection system of Helmet-Mounted Displays has completeness structure and layout plausible. The functions of software are satisfactory. The electrical controlling can place the helmet automatically and intellective, measure the angle deviation convenient and quickly. The inspection system of Helmet-Mounted Displays fulfills the measurement of Helmet-Mounted Displays and passed the check for acceptance.
