With the continuous and in-depth development of informatization in every field, network management has also stepped in and gained quiet great progresses. Today's network shows characteristics of heterogeneity and dispersion; network management features distributed network with centralized management. All these have raised new issues for network management, so developing network management software of high versatility and high scalability to adapt to and meet the needs of this era has much practical significance and broad market prospects. Performance Management, an essential part of network management, provides important bases for assessing and optimizing network. It is design and implementation of PM system into which multivariate statistical analysis is introduced that discussed in this paper.Advantages and disadvantages of network management systems, domestic and abroad, are analyzed comparatively in this article, and in view of current state that lays less emphasis on statistics and data analysis, correspondence analysis of multivariate statistical analysis is introduced into the performance analysis sub-module and network PM system is designed and implemented. The article upholds the design concept of high versatility and high scalability, starts detailed design from the mechanisms of every sub-module of PM. Functions of performance query and performance threshold configuration completed by designing remote interface between client and server, which achieves a cross between the two through Java RMI; Through an in-depth analysis of the function of threshold alarm, mechanism of the generation of threshold event established, then interface between performance module and alarm module designed using Observer Pattern, so completed the function of threshold alarm; Needs of performance report analyzed here, by designing unified report interface, configuring reports dynamically through XML, together with the mechanism of generating reports, that is, sorting the time to generate reports, diversity of performance reports achieved; Contributing to correspondence analysis which introduced into the system, analytical ability of performance analysis sub-module improved, depth of analysis deepened, and means enriched. Test results of each module presented in the end, meanwhile, advantages and disadvantages of the system analyzed and summarized, and the future work on performance analysis roughly explored.
