The Principal Analyze And Implementation Of GSM Mobile Station's RF Calibration

Radio Frequency calibration is necessary in the design and manufacture of the GSM/GPRS mobile terminal. This thesis is concentrate on designing the algorithm of the GSM/GPRS mobile terminal's Radio Frequency calibration. Later, the algorithm will be realized and carefully tested.At the beginning of the thesis, related background is introduced, including the air interface of the Global System of the Mobile Communication and the Radio Frequency part in the GSM/GPRS mobile terminal. This is the essential foundation of the Frequency calibration algorithm. After that the general theory of design the Frequency calibration algorithm, such as why and how to calibrate is described. The consequence of the calibration is also described.On the foundation of the general theory, in the chapter 4 a concrete algorithm of the calibration, the concrete steps and the algorithm related to TI Calypso platform are given out. The most time of the calibration is used by calibrating the transmission power. So in the thesis, this part is carefully researched and finally a curve model is found and it can obviously enhance the velocity and the accuracy of the calibration. In order to test the results, the algorithm is implemented as a software on the PC finally.At the end of the thesis, the radio frequency parameter of a GSM/GPRS mobile terminal which is calibrated by the software is measured and carefully analyzed. The result shows that the radio frequency performance of the GSM/GPRS mobile terminal conforms the national standard very well and is highly enhanced. At last, some furthermore work that needs to do, including the enhancing the accuracy, reducing the time it needs and how to test the results of the calibration during mass production is given out in the thesis.
