In the railway system, Wheels of train is an important factor for exercise in security. Especially in recent years, speed of train has been improving constantly, this makes the size and geometric shape of wheels are higher requirements, the wheels of the train from time to time is necessary to detect Parameters do not meet the standards or wear-gauge train wheels have to be provided additional repair or scrapped, Otherwise it will affect the safe operation of trains. In the past, the dynamic detection of train wheels is mainly used by Cursor Caliper. This makes the detection process existed for many artificial factors, further impact on the accuracy of train wheels, for example, wantonness and low efficiency. Currently abroad also have some methods on train wheels detection methods and equipment , for example, fixed and portable detection device for parameters of train wheels automatic detection device in Japan Railway Hokkaido, U.S. electronic automatic measuring equipment, etc. But because of very expensive price and most of them is high precision mechanical contact. It s presence on the device itself and the issue of loss to the round of the parameters measured less, and many other factors but not in the country to introduce similar products, so how to improve labor productivity, improve the monitoring of the degree of automation and accuracy, it has become very concerned about issues in China's railway departments.This paper is based on the measurement of CCD (Charge Couple Device) imaging technology and image processing technology related to computer control, a non-contact and online measuring system. At first, this paper makes an introduction of the hardware makeup of the testing system, then aiming at the geometric polynomial of image gathering caused by hardware device error, employs method of binary polynomial, all to rectify it geometric and applies "Statistical average method" to the partition of the image so as to acquire the various parameters of wheel tread. Eventually I setup a database and realize such functions as the storage, edition and inquiry of the data via conducting testing experiment on standard objects in the laboratory and analyzing the testing results obtained, thesis draws to a conclusion that the various parameters obtained by the software system, meet the requirements of the system, and the train wheel set automatic testing system is capable of realizing precise measurements of train wheel set.
