With the rapid development of urban construction, the protection of water and sustainable use are more and more important, the rainwater and wastewater treatment facilities have been gradually improved, and it brings a lot of data of drainpipe network and affiliated apparatuses. But in most city of our country, it is obvious to usually use handwork method to manage urban drainpipe network information, In order to manage and apply more and more drainpipe network information, sufficiently and rationally, to enhance management efficiency and quality of drainpipe network, it is necessary for modernization city to establish a perfect, exact drainpipe network management system.Urban drainpipe network management system on the base of GIS, integrating computer figure show and data process as an whole, is a new technology to store and process spatial data. In this thesis, form side of design and development, through technical support of GIS, combining actual demand of information management of the drainpipe network, the secondary development of drainpipe network is realized on Mapinfo Professional 8.5 and Delphi7.5 which is Visual programming language. It can fully utilize GIS function to edit, show, analyze, process, inquire space and attribute data, so the system could serve urban draining management accurately, efficiently and promptly.In the process of design and study of drainpipe network management system, this thesis first analyzes the situation and existing problems of drainpipe network management system. Based on sufficient survey, this thesis total carries on analysis and design to the system, adopts software engineering method, puts forward function design of system and subsystem, and describes the function of every subsystem in detail, meantime, designs the system database from function structure.In this thesis, short-path algorithm is studied intensively. Through the process of research, Dijkstra algorithm is chosen as the short-path algorithm in the system. From the network topology structure (data structure) and fast-search-technology in Dijkstra algorithm, according to the actual situation of shortcut searching in drainpipe network, an improved traditional Dijkstra algorithm is bought forward. At last, this improved algorithm is realized through programming and validity of the algorithm is verified through experiment.
