Autoconfiguration Technology For Ad Hoc Networks

With the booming of mobile devices and Internet,wireless network has got rapid development as the extension of wired backbone.Particularly,the Ad Hoc network is becoming a hot research topic because of its flexibility and robustness.However,the Ad Hoc network has many problems remained unsolved,including routing, quality of service,security etc.Among them,address assignment is one key feature the Ad Hoc network must preserve in order to function properly.On account of node's random mobility,dynamics of network topology,centralized administration's absence,node's limited energy resources etc,to implement node's autoconfiguration is much more difficult in Ad Hoc network than in fixed network,what's more,it is difficult to apply the means of autoconfiguration in fixed network to Ad Hoc network directly.So we must research a sort of special address configuration mechanism which can be applied in Ad Hoc network.This paper aims to solve Ad Hoc network address autoconfiguration.Firstly,the key.stone is to study Ad Hoc network's traits and crucial techniques,which is the gist to devise new Ad Hoc network address autoconfiguration project.Secondly,it enumerates some existing Ad Hoc network IP address autoconfiguration projects and analyses their advantages and disadvantages,of course,the disadvantages are places which should be adverted and mended when new projects are devised.Lastly,it proposes a resolution using two phases to autoconfig IP address in Ad Hoc networks,and simulations are carried out to validate the performance of our proposed approach.
