Radar Information Real-Timer Processing & Display By Software

With the rapid development of computer technology such as Multi-Core CPU, High-Speed Memory, high-powered display board and Multi-Core Programming technology, the capability of computer and the working efficiency of application software have risen greatly in recent years. Computer can complete complex radar data processing very flexibly in digital field; its powerful capability of digital graphics processing and display and advanced programming technology make it convenient to realize the system of radar information processing and display, which provides a new approach for the development of radar information processing and display technology. Basing on such technology background, a new trend that using the generic computer to realize the function of radar information processing and display terminal by software has presented itself. The software realization of the radar system makes the compatibility and extensibility of the system even stronger. And it can save costs and can shorten development periods. Also it makes the system fixed and upgraded more convenient.This paper, basing on practical function requirements and development directions of technology of the system of information processing and display for coast alarm radar, designs and implements the computer-based radar signal and data processing and integrated information display system by software. This software system designed in this paper acquires radar data from FPGA equipments though the high speed PCI bus by the DMA mode. The system implements radar signal and data real-time processing by Intel IPP. And a friendly GUI is designed using Visual C++ 2008 in the software system. The key issues discussed in this paper are the resolvent of several difficulties which are high speed radar data transmissions, real-time coordinate conversion by software, radar information real-time processing basing on Intel IPP and radar image real-time display basing on Direct3D. Also this paper provides the realize approach of the software realization of the system of information processing and display for one certain coast alarm radar. And the software system is designed and implements ultimately.The experiments results bares out that this software system can well meet the function requirements, such as high speed radar data acquiring, real-time target information processing and target information integration display, of coast alarm radar. So this system has a high engineering application value.
