| The prevalence of short TV dramas have been a reality hardly to be ignored. Hence a study on the phenomenon of short TV dramas and an analysis of its features, impacts, the inducements of its appearance and its development have their significance.This paper commences on the appearance of short TV dramas, combs its phylogeny, summarize the extant research findings by theoretical and practical circles and conducts a meticulous case study on two short TV dramas: wuduyehua and bentangdiyiju.Based on the above-mentioned, this paper defines short TV dramas, analyzes its features in details and the drawbacks from the perspective of its future development Short TV dramas in essence is a product of mass culture. It combines TV programs, news and dramas together from which arises both advantages and disadvantages. The audience of short TV dramas being mainly local grassroots doesn't deprecate these programs but the inappropriate eagerness to please the audience does. The excessive pleasing may lead to vulgarness in direction, low quality and haste in production and too confined to localization in culture. At the end of this paper is a discussion about some principles for short TV dramas to grasp in future development. |
