Metadata Schema And Knowledge Sharing Oriented Metaldata Management System For Expo2010-Design And Implementation

With the demand for the expansion of technology and application development,information systems began to cross multi-domains,the complexity is increasing,and the scale is growing. Therefore,metadata starts to play an increasingly important role.One of the most important issues in metadata technology is that how to define a suitable metadata schema and how to management the metadata effectively,this paper focuses on this two themes.The existing metadata standards as well as metadata schema just oriented special domains. But a complex information system,such as knowledge sharing information system for EXPO 2010 cross multi-domains,such that a cross-domain metadata schema as well as a corresponding metadata management system is requied.Therefore with the improvement of classic Dulin Core-Gov and GILS standards,this paper proposes an EXPO metadata schema that reaches both the domainal demand and common demand,which based on Shanghai World EXPO in 2010.This metadata schema can effectively describes the metadata of complex information systems that similar to EXPO2010 from the syntax,semantics and pragmatics levels,to solve the problem of needing both the domainal demand and common demand.Similarly,although there are somemetadata management tools already,but failed in multi-domain metadata management system.Therefore,based on the characteristics of EXPO2010, this paper proposes an EXPO metadata management system that reaches both the domainal demand and common demand,which combines automatical metadata extract technology,metadata knowledge management technology,EXPO ontology editing technology.With our practice it's proved,the metada schema for EXPO 2010 and the metada management system can satisfy reqirement of the knowledge sharing of Expo 2010 information system.My works and achievements can be illustrated as follows:1.Proposed an EXPO metadata schema that reaches both the domainal demand and common demand.2.Designed an EXPO metadata management system that combines automatical metadata extract technology,metadata knowledge management technology,EXPO ontology editing technology.3.In the metadata knowledge management technology,designed and developed a metadata editor,which includes the consistency examine and semantic validation of metadata,as well as the use of EXPO ontology editor to supplement metadata.4.Proposed a new concept similarity algorithm basesd WordNet and focused crawler,then use this algorithm to semi-automatic construct EXPO ontology.This method can reflect the ontology creator intention better,also can reduce the complexity of constructing an ontology.The research is supported by the international cooperation project "Expo Knowledge Sharing System Based on Metadata Management"(ID:065107042) of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Project "Plan for Climbing Action" in 2006.
