Many materials and products take the form of particles in reality, so the size distribution of particles has a great impact on the quality and performance of these products. The Laser Particle Size Analyzer is widely used in the field of particle size measurement. Compared with the traditional Laser Particle Size Analyzer, the new types based on the combined spectrum technology, get wider measurement and higher resolution.The potodetector of the Laser Particle Size Analyzer based on the conbined spectrum technology, has 93 analog output signals. In order to collect these signals, a data acquisition system with 112 sampling channel was designed by using the FPGA chip, EP2C5Q208C7, as core. The data transmition on the PCI bus was also achieved by using the IP core PCI_t32. The system can provide a guarantee for the real-time acquisition, display and processing of the test data of laser particle size.The main work includes:1. Designing the data acquisition hardware system by using the FPGA chip EP2C5Q208C7, and completing a simple of the PCI ad-in card.2. Designing all the digital logics circuit and PCI bus interface by using the ample logic resource in FPGA and the IP core PCI_t32.3. Programming the PCI device driver under the operating of windows XP, and improving the part of data acquisition in the LSA softerware.4. Verifing the accuracy of the system by using SignalTap II. The experimental results of measuring standard particle on the laser size test platform in laboratory show the validity of the system.
