Research On Wireless Sensor Network Of Zigbee Technology

With the rapid growth of the wireless network technology and increasing ripe sensor technology, Wireless sensor network comes. Wireless sensor network (WSN) is made up of a great deal of low-cost subminiature sensor nodes, which are set in the monitoring area. It can make a many jumps network by the wireless communications by itself. The purpose is to apperceiving, collecting and processing the objects which are in the network system, and sending the information to the observer. Recently years, Wireless sensor network has been applied in various fields such as preventive medical, monitoring environment, putting out forest fire, researching benthonic boards, exploring planet, etc. It is becoming the hot topic in domestic and abroad.The IEEE802.15.4 standard for the low-rate wireless personal area network (LR-WPAN) takes up with low wastage, low rate and low cost for purpose, And it can supply a uniform standard for personal different facilities in family area. IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee protocol is constituted of IEEE802.15.4's PHY layer and MAC layer, ZigBee network layer and application support layer. Its outstanding characteristic is that the system support low cost operation, easy realization of the dependable data, short-distance operation, the very low power consumption and the different layer's safety, etc.This thesis begins with introducing ZigBee's originate background,characteres and prevalences , After analysing three typical network's topology architecture, I adopt star topology to design a hardware platform which could be used to develop with ZigBee, and design system software that enable sensors communication.It uses the C8051F021 as the MCU, uses the CC2420 chip as the RF module and then establishes a platform for WSN. The MCU communicate with the RF module by the SPI interface. On the system software design aspect, I use current protocol, API function and source code to code a SPI interface software, data transmit program, system test program and configuring software on PC. Finally,I summarize the thesis, prospect and extension in the future has been proceeded based on current groundwork.
