Research On Data Link Testing Technology

Data Link which takes the advantage of wireless communications, builds communication networks among various types of tactical combat systems, such as ships, aircrafts and land-based platforms, and can work as a multiplier of the combat effectiveness. Because of the complexity of Data Link protocol, there are many different implementation methods and options. As a result, the Data Link protocol conformance testing will be one of the key factors which affect the interoperability of Data Link equipments and the large-scale application of Data Link. The reserach subject of this paper is how to take Data Link protocol conformance testing in a variety of combat scenarios, in order to get better testing program.Firstly, this paper conducted a deep research on the protocol conformance testing theory, based on which Data Link protocol conformance testing method was proposed. Then this method was applied to the testing of Link16 Data Link communication protocol to design Link16 Data Link protocol conformance testing solutions. Finally this paper gave the design process and result of ATS (Abstract Test Suite). It also simulated Link16 Data Link protocol conformance testing process and verified the ATS in the Telelogic Tau SDL and TTCN Suite 4.4 simulation software environment.
