| Structural optimal design so far has existed for nearly one hunderd years. Especially in the past forty years, it has made great progress both in theory and in the application or algorithm. In this theory, Genetic Algorithm is a bionics algorithm about evolvement theory, which received extensive attention in the computer science field and optimization field in recent years. It is based on natural selection and population genetics mechanism, which has the extensive application and entire astringency. This thesis introduces the Genetic Algorithm and its application in the structural optimal design. The basic conception and main characteristics about the Genetic Algorithm are also discussed in this paper. The basic principles and methods of Genetic Algorithm and its application in the structural optimal design are also analysed and researched in this thesis.The wider use of engineering structure of the optimal design of stiffened panels were studied, and also stiffened panels' forms, optimization problems, calculation methods and optimization strategies were also studied. Based on the T-shape stiffened panels' studies, reasonable design variables were given, and in order to give full play to material properties, structural weight as a given objective funtion, in the end some useful suggestions were provided according to the analysis of the results for the structural design.The optimal design of stiffened panels is proceeding by using Genetic Algorithm optimization toolbox of MATLAB, and assessed by engineering examples. The results indicate that the optimized design is reasonable and the method is appropriate. |
