Wireless sensor networks is an integration of many technologies such as sensors, embedded computing, distributed information processing and wireless communications. It is a new technology of information acquisition, processing, and transmission, for wireless sensor networks have the advantages of being constructed fast and flexibly, being unconstrained by the traditional network, they have a wide range of potential applications in recent years, and attracts more attentions.Wireless sensor networks is a severely energy-limited network, and how to save energy effectively so as to maximize the lifecycle of the network is one of the most important problems of research on wireless sensor networks. This paper study the wireless sensor network focus on energy efficient problem, and energy saving strategies of wireless sensor networks are mainly analyzed, including the reduction of distance of single-jump communication, data collection precision, data flow and conflicts in communication, etc. The main work focus on the following two aspects:First, in the wireless sensor networks, network-cluster structure can greatly improve system performance. If it can be better used, the network energy consumption can be effectively reduced. In the paper, through the comparison of the existing classical clustering algorithm of routing protocol in the wireless sensor network, a clustering algorithm called EDSCA based on the remaining energy and distance of the nodes is proposed. In this new method, the node which has more remaining energy and is closer to the base station has greater probability to be chosen as the cluster head node. The main problem of this algorithm includes the computation of the best number of cluster head nodes, the election of the cluster head, the formation and maintenance of the cluster. And the simulation results show that this algorithm proposed in the paper have better performance in reducing the consumption of energy for the wireless sensor networks. Data collected in wireless sensor networks are similar and redundant to a large extent. Such correlation can be used to do data aggregation so as to reduce the amount of data transmission, which is an important idea of research on energy efficient for wireless sensor networks. However currently data aggregation is mainly focused on the joined nodes, the nodes collecting data directly are neglected. Proceeding from this problem on, a double-classification data aggregation method combined with hierarchical network structure is presented in this paper, data aggregation based on the time serial of the member nodes in the cluster and data fusion based on matrix analyses of cluster head nodes.Finally, summarize the work of this paper, and present the prospect of the later work.
