The petroleum information system is an information management platform that used for the petroleum profession. As a data browser and manifestation platform of the petroleum information system, The petroleum data-sketch system taking Applet as the foundation,providing an vivid, convenience, safety, stable Man-Machine-Interface(HCI) for the customer. Customer can define the data performance method and understand variety of all relevant data which is creating during drilling pass this HCI.First we discuss the design and implementation of the vector-sign-edit subsystem base on the java2D. Various functions of this subsystem are based on a series of user-defined vector sign classes. In these classes we define some functions used for carrying out the vector sign drawing, moving, zooming, merging, separating, loading and saving.Then we discuss the design and implementation of the data-sketch system base on the java2D.Its main function shows the mass of abstract data produced during the drilling as the visualized graphic to the users, so the users can browse or compare the data conveniently. The drawing of data is mainly composed of the vector sign drawing and the curve drawing. The vector sign is drew by inquiring the database and invoking the vector sign that has been accomplished. Based on the geometric proportion and cut drawing method, the curve drawing carries out the logarithm and shift drawing method.
