HF communication plays an important role in the wireless communications,especially in the military communications, due to its advantages of good flexibilities,low cost, strong subsistence, and long range. However, the performance of HFcommunications systems is seriously influenced by some phenomena caused by thereflection of ionosphere such as Multipath spread, Intersymbol interference(ISI), Flatfading, Frequency selective fading, and Time selective fading. These phenomena restrictthe capacity of the channel and the speed of data transmission through wireless.Equalization, as a solution to reduce the ISI and the distortion of channel, is wildly usedin modern digital communications. Turbo equalization, as a new technology plays acrucial role in equalization systems due to its outstanding performance.The main purpose of this paper is to apply the Turbo equalization to the real timecommunication systems. We programmed all the key parts of Turbo equalization basedon MILSTD118110A. Finally, in order to detect data more quickly and exactly,some ideas are given to simplify and optimize the soft-input soft-output (SISO)decodingalgorithms. |
