Turbo Coding and Space-Time Codes are among the most applicable and highly developing techniques in the research areas of wireless communications. The research works on them in recent years are so efficient that both of them have been written into the 3GPP protocols. The combination of these two techniques桾urbo-STCM performs outstanding since it combines the advantages of them. It can efficiently increase the coding gains of the Space-Time Codes. However the complexity of Turbo-STCM restricts its application.The thesis presents a decoding scheme utilizing Soft-Output~Viterbi-Algorithm (SOVA), which can efficiently decrease thecomplexity of the algorithm as well as keep the good performance of the Turbo-STCM. In fact, the computer simulation shows that the complexity of thenew scheme is almost a half of the Max-Log-Map algorithm and the performanceis closely approaching the latter.The thesis is also putting forward joint channel estimation and decodingscheme depending on the decoding feedback.
