With the development of modern industry techniques, vibration problems have already been paid more attentions. How to decrease the bad and negative effect of vibration on equipments, especially on the precision equipments were widely and deeply studied, and become the research focus of the research units all over the world. In the process of active vibration control, actuator is the executive mechanism, and it's a key link. Usually the vibration response caused by external disturbance have wide frequency band, but the existing actuators cannot reach these requirements. Based on investigation and research, in this paper a new method of widening frequency response band and improving driving capability of actuators is presented.The wide band actuator studied on in this paper is a combination actuator of electromagnetism actuator and piezoelectric stack. Generally speaking, the amplitude of the vibration in low frequency is large, and less in high frequency. In the frequency band required to be controlled, electromagnetism actuator is used in low frequency band, and its vibration amplitude is larger, piezoelectric stack is used in high frequency band, and its vibration amplitude is smaller. So the effective work band of combination actuator is wider, and especially its frequency response curve is comparatively smoothness. These characteristics of electromagnetism actuator and piezoelectric stack were effectively utilized in this paper, and the frequency band of the actuator was widened.In this paper, the driving capability of piezoelectric actuator was detailed analyzed, and the piezoelectric stack was used in the transient performance experiment. The electromagnetism actuator model was build based on magnetic circuit principle. The concrete structure form of electromagnetism actuator which is suitable for this application situation was designed, and its driving capability was analyzed. The combination structure form of compound wide band actuator was designed. The frequency compensator and frequency divider were designed to compose the compound actuator system. The simulation of control system of the compound wide band actuators were carried out. The result shows that the high practical value of the compound wide band actuators is foreseeable.
