As control center of the engine, the governor can accord the load changes automatically adjust the fuel cycle of the engine, keep the speed of the engine on stable, and ensure the engine to work at the good operation performance. Now the most applied governor used on gasoline generator is mechanical governor, the problems are its poor accuracy and large time consumption to achieve stable state. In order to solve the flaw of the mechanical governor to the gasoline generator when adjusting the speed of the engine, and in order to enhance the automatization, the stability and the generation quality of the gasoline generator, it is necessary to develop a kind of inexpensive, high reliability, versatile and possesses extensional ability digital electronic governor.On the basis of investigation on the related literature of electronic governor at home and abroad, this paper research into the measure to improve the dynamic characteristics in the middle of transmission of the electronic governor. It concludes that the gasoline generator with a digital electronic governor are a first order inertia and a two steps under damping linking after analyses the automatic control process of the gasoline engine. The relation between the change of the speed and the change of the butterfly valve has been discussed. An improved fuzzy logical algorithm is proposed,which is suitable for self-tuning parameters online in PID controller of gasoline engine governor directed against the limitation conventional PID controller and on the research object of SDQF2-II. The simulation results show that the online fuzzy logic regulator of PID parameters used in PID controller has expanded the range of dynamic response of the controller in the case of loads. The Quality of generate electricity and the overall characteristics of the control system are improved obviously in the experiment on gasoline engine type SDQF2-II.This article has presented the design process and the method of the hardware and software to the digital electronic governor of gasoline generator. The digital electronic governor depends on controlling software to realize the function of regulation and control. It can automatically regulate the accelerograph of the gasoline engine, gives the engine the right amount fuel oil, and lets the gasoline generator work at the fixed rotational speed when the load is being changed. It also has solved the mechanical governor problems such as poor accuracy and large time consumption to achieve stable state; and it is versatile and possesses extensional ability. So for different types of gasoline engine, the obtainment of relevant parameters and the designing of relevant programs suffice to realize the control functions of the digital electronic governor.The outcome of the experiment on gasoline engine type SDQF2-II shows that such digital electronic speed governor is in possession of stable timing rate of 1.0% and instantaneous timing rate of 6.2%. And it is worth a wide popularization for its simple structure and low cost.
