This dissertation presents the researching achievements focused on the feasibility of introducing softswitch to the mobile telecommunication network. By building up softswitch network successfully, the feasibility of the softswitch system was demonstrated.Softswitch is proposed by industry with a view of network evolution in a special background that telecommunication evolves towards packet network adopting IP as its core. It is initially used to support the voice service, and will support all kinds of services based on IP in the future.It technically faces the future development of network and strategically, it protects sufficiently the investment of telecommunication operators.The main work of this paper includes:1. Expouding the aims and content of this paper,the feasibility of introducing Softswitch to the mobile telecommunication network.2. The Softswitch and NGN system is summarized.3. The application of NGN in the mobile telecommunication network is analyzed in detail.4. Based on the new softswitch project in Ya'an district, some problems which are met in the period of network establishment utilizing the softswitch faclities of the manufactures are researched and solved.The problems include the calculation of the network capability, the composing of network element nodes, and the structure of speech path and signaling network. We choose one from several plans by demonstrating and evaluating with regard to every technological problem.The application results show the advantage of softswitch . It provides a way that has its technical feature ,and the project has achieved economical benefit.
