Studying For The Implementation Of IPTV Based On IMS In CTT Chongqing

Along with the development of communication and networking technologies, convergence is becoming the basis of telecommunication networks and telecommunication sector. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) featuring distributed, access independence, and open service control interface is the universal framework which provides realtime or non-realtime IP multimedia services. It is the core standard realizing the networks convergence and services convergence, and is the important basis to make innovations in technologies, services, and even business. IPTV is a new creative service developed by telecommunication operator and content provider. Its evolution is restricted by the lack of standardization. Applying the IMS framework to the IPTV service provision is becoming the new trend. IMS-based IPTV can take full advantage of IMS infrastructure.This thesis based on the existence network of CTT Chongqing, studied how to deploy and implement the IMS-based IPTV service. Firstly, the characteristic and infrastructure of IPTV had been studied, and the IPTV standardization status and relational technologies had been introduced. Secondly, the trend of the network's development, IMS framework and IMS-based IPTV had been discussed. Thirdly, the existence network of CTT Chongqing had been detailed, and the planning of the implementation of IMS-based IPTV had been analyzed. A proposal for the deployment and implementation of IPTV service in CTT Chongqing has been depicted. Lastly, the key of implementing the IPTV service had been discussed, such as user access, supply of multicast, Qos of IPTV, deloyment of MCDN, configuration of media servers in center and edge node and so on.In a new period of transformation, whichever the technologies, networks, services, and operation pattern in the communication sector are experiencing unprecedented change. The important position of IMS in next generation network had been recognized widely. Adopting IMS infrastructure, the new services can be builded more easily and rapidly with its standardized interfaces and protocols, and the convergence of the fixed network, mobile network, and Internet can come true. Studying the realization of IMS-based IPTV service for CTT Chongqing could provide the reference in the future deployment of IPTV service for others.
