In recent years, along with the fast development of computer science, micro-electronics technology, network communication and automation and their penetration with each other, modern instrument has been provided with character of times of Industry IT. The technology mainstream is digital, intelligent, network enabled, subminiature, high-powered, high-reliable, high-stable and optical-mechanical-electrical. Industrial automation instrument is a kind of high and new technology products which include sensor technology, signal processing technology, computer technology and network service technology. This kind of instruments is very representative in instrument industrial. They are the priority research areas of academia and industrial circles because of the high technology, use in severe environment and high reliability.At present, the embedded system development of this kind of instruments is still in the primary stage. Nearly all the design of software and hardware starts from scratch. There is nearly no standard and normative organization model in the research work. Product quality depends on the experience and capability of the developers. Software resources in the developing process are lack of effective accumulation and management result in repeated development, poor efficiency, high error rate and high development costs. This development model can not meet the requirements of new products.The paper originates from Chongqing Key Technologies R&D Program"The research of embedded software open platform oriented intelligent instrument and its support environment"and"Industrial automation instrument embedded system development platform". To overcome the contradiction between software requirement and production capacity, this paper proposes a construction method of embedded software system for industrial automation instrument and describes the theory and application by researching on software-reuse theory and component technology.This method is designed to provide theoretical and methodological feasible program for the actual construction of embedded software system for industrial automation instrument. Prototype system has been built in the project. Part of the application modules have been developed by the platform. With the promotion of systematic and standardized software development, development based on software-reuse and component will influence the embedded software development of instrument industrial.
