Along with social progress and improvement of people's life quality, the number of motor vehicles increases rapidly. Motor vehicles data recorders which are also named"Auto Black Box"are used widely. Although this device can make incidence of traffic accidents fall in a certain extent, it plays a very limited role in responsibility judgement after accident, as it can only record the various parameters of vehicles, but not"record"the scene when the accident occurred. In order to provide more useful information for the responsibility judgement after incident, this thesis proposes a new type of motor vehicle data recorder of which the main function is to record the wide-scope video image of the accident with time length 10-seconds before. The information extracted from the images can give valid evidence for the responsibility analysis in the case.This thesis provides design project of it and gives demonstration in detail and sufficient explaination. The system consists of CMOS image sensor for real-time image capture, large-volume image data memory subsystem of SDRAM and NAND FLASH. The system control is realized with ARM7 family chip S3C44BOX. Accident sensor produces an interrupt trigger signal while accident is taking place. The interrupt response operation of the system is to transfer the image data from SDRAM into FLASH, the image information can be downloaded for accident case analysis.This recorder can provide more intuitionistic evidence for accident responsibility judgement, and have excellent characteristic of real-time, high reliability, good expansibility, convenient data extraction, cheap cost and so on, so it must find wide applications in traffic field.
