With the development of wireless communication technology, new technology and new service come forth continually, which changes and improves people's life, providing new solutions for many trades and technology fields. GSM is the widest mobile communication network on the earth at the present time. Short Message Service (SMS) is a basic data service provided by GSM network. GPRS is a wireless packet data service with the development of GSM, advancing the rate of communication and providing a better way for users to surf on line through wireless network. During the informationization building for Irrigated Area, such as hydrology telemetric, watching floodgate, field water regulating etc., restricted by condition and environment, which need to make use of GSM/GPRS wireless communication techology.This thesis expatiates the solution and technology realization of wireless service integrated during the informationization building for Irrigated Area by making use of the GSM/GPRS technology in existence. The thesis brings forward and realizes a short service platform which is used for sending and receiving water regulating order, and the system of water ticket inquired and printed which provides the wireless mobile service for water sale in the Irrigated Area. First, the thesis presents the network structure and function of GSM/GPRS, the realization principle, service category and realization way of SMS. Then, the thesis presents two systems concretely: One is developing a platform for short message service which is made use of GSM SMS. This system is the one that the computer sends and receives short message, controls messages through serial communication, during which some pivotal technologies such as serial communication,short message encoding,ADO database accessed, Windows multithreading, etc., are expatiated. Another one is PDA connecting with GPRS network, which accesses the database server located in the Internet, inquires and updates the data in the database, and meanwhile it prints the information of selling water (water ticket). The thesis presents the carrying out of the whole system as well as the pivotal technology, including the presentation of platform exploiture, realization of portable printing, as well as the remote database accessing through the Web Service. Finally, it summarizes the whole article and points out some deficiency in practical application for this system.
