Machine vision has been becoming a critical technology for production efficiency and quality assurance in modern industrial automation production. And embedded Ethernet has been widely used in embedded control area for its fast speed, low price, strong interoperability and scalability.In this thesis , We introduce the visual servo and embedded Ethernet technology into the rotary screen printing machine control system on basis of the item project"Control system of Rotary Screen Printing Machine (Referred to as RSPM )based on the visual servo technology". Using embedded control system, accurate data collection and synchronous control are realized. Comparing with industry computer control system, it has many virtues such as higher precision, faster speed, more flexible expandability and so on.In this thesis, the characteristics of the industrial control network are firstly outlined, and embedded Ethernet and visual servo technology in industrial control applications are introduced respectively. The RSPM status and development trends are introduced briefly as well. On basis of the analysis of the composition of RSPM and the principle of the original control system, a new control scheme based on visual servo and embedded Ethernet technology is proposed in this thesis,the structure of this control scheme is elaborated, and its superiority of it is also analyzed.The design notions of the hardware system based on DSP are given firstly. The hardware structure and functions of the main board, servo board and communication board are discussed. Hereinto, the design details of the Ethernet interface are emphasized in this thesis. In order to achieve the function of Ethernet communication, the implementation of the Ethernet controller's driver program is presented. The reduced TCP/IP Protocol Stack is realized using the C language after careful analysis on it. Some noticeable problems in software designation for DSP are also mentioned. Aims at the needs of visual servo system, the control mode of it is discussed, and the realization process of visual servo control in the RSPM is also introduced. Considering that the image processing is one of the key technologies in visual servo system, the related image processing algorithms are explored.In the end of the thesis, the optimization of the system is presented. The prospects of rotary screen printing control system development trend are also discussed.
