Design And Implementation Of Defect Management System For VS Platform

For various deficiencies found in software development and testing process, effective software project management has become an indispensable link. In the software development process, implementation of software defect management is very significant for the analysis of defects causes, improvement of code quality and reduction the cost of enterprise software testing. A good defect management system can not only record, statistic, and handle defects, but also provide defect tracking, classification and analysis capabilities.It mainly discusses the design and implementation process of defect management system for VS platform. The article sums up the advantage and disadvantage of existing defect management systems, and proposes the defect management system that integrated with VS development environment. Meanwhile, by using logical layer issued in the form of Web service, we can greatly reduce the difficulty of server-side deployment and maintenance.At first, it makes a deep introduction and analysis to the current status of defect management system. And then, gives demands according to the strengths and weaknesses of existing system, and identifies the whole design requirements. On this basis, the paper first establish a three-tier hierarchical structure model with performance layer, logic layer and data layer, set up the modules according to functions, and define the development platform and the implementation technologies. At the same time, the paper focuses on the specific design and implementation process of logical layer and database layer. Finally, the paper also does functionality and performance test against defect management system, and test data were also analyzed.Practical use shows that, the function of the defect management system for VS platform meets the business requirements for defect management. It has good retractility and extensibility, also with good ease-of-use and user experience.
