With the rapid development of mobile communication,, more and more bandwidth are needed .In order to meet this requirements , this dissertation gives a resolution for future communication system, and presents a novel architecture for cell communication system based on ROF technology. The factual is using optical communication to bear the weight of mobile communication, and meeting the demand of future communication in bandwidth or traffic usage. In detail, it can provide millimeter wave application, meet the demand of social economy in disposing micro cell or picro cell, provide platform of coalescent network, etc.The physical layer of transmission in ROF cell system is made up of tradition radio access layer and optical layer, which brings evolvement in network architecture. And ROF cell system with these characteristics, such as flat architecture, centralize control in solo ROF cell, distributed control to CBS(central base station) of cells in system, and flexible network construction.Firstly, some research in network architecture of ROF cell system are presented in this dissertation,, potential network topology and communication multiple technique of optical layer are analyzed, network architecture of traditional radio layer is described, radio resource management of ROF cell system is referred to.Secondly, the development of modern location management is researched, and then the database architecture, call scheme, location update scheme which are belonged to the position management are analyzed. Basing on these research, with the characteristic and advantage of ROF cell system, the application of location management in ROF cell system is researched, then user mobility model ,location database architecture, call scheme, location update scheme which are fit for ROF cell system are presented. Meanwhile, the cost of ROF cell system is analyzed.Finally, a model in OPNET software for ROF cell system is found; the ROF cell system elementarily is validated.
