With the progress of information technology and the large scale application of Internet, the amount of data have been substantial increased, it bring a large chance to the development of network storage contemporary. The storage system evolve from a direct attached storage into complex network storage and from with one disk into many of disks multi-hierarchy and complex system now.Fibre channel combines the advantage of network and channel, which provides low latency, high bandwith and long-distance connection. It is the most widely used high-speed storage network transmission protocol.Object-based storage system is a new network storage architecture, which combines the advantage of SAN's high performance and NAS's cross-platform data sharing. Object-based storage controller is one of the key components in Object-based storage system. SOPC technology has the advantages for hardware and software customization on-line. Designed with SOPC technology, fibre channel port is interfered into Object-based storage controller, which could shorten the I/O path. Before data transmission, fibre channel port must login fiber network, obtain dynamic address and negotiate communication parameters. There are three types of login service for fibre channel. They are fabric login, port login and process login. Login service is a important part of fibre channel protocol. In prototype system, hardware provides programming interface of frame transmission. Login service is realized by software, and run on ucLinux system (Kernel Version: 2.6.20). The evaluation results demonstrate that fibre channel port can login the taget device (QLA2310 fibre channel HBA of qlogic).
