3D reconstruction from medical images is a multi-disciplinary subject. It is an important application of computer graphics and image processing in biomedicine engineering. It relates to the subjects of digital image processing, computer graphics and some related knowledge in medical area.3D reconstruction from medical images is widely used in diagnostic, surgery planning and simulating, plastic and artificial limb surgery, radiotherapy planning, and teaching in anatomy. Study in 3D reconstruction from medical images has important significance on science and worthiness in practical application. This paper has made some academic research on 3D reconstruction and its related basic technologies including CT image-forming principle, image filtering, adjusting technology of CT image's window wide and window level and 3D reconstruction from medical images. And has made image filtering and adjusted image's window wide and window level about original CT images by VTK, a kind of visualization tool kit. Then made 3D reconstruction about preprocessing images by Marching Cubes which is a kind of classical algorithm of surface rendering in 3-D reconstruction encapsulated in VTK. But the ambiguity problem of the classical Marching Cubes made the result of 3D reconstruction having hole and being visual discontinuity. So there has made improvement on its ambiguity including cube's boundary face and the interior of a cube. And realized the improvement algorithm with C++ programmer. The result of experiment proved that there are no holes and discontinuity phenomena in the image of 3D reconstruction with new MC algorithm.
