TD-SCDMA standards is the first wireless telecommunication standards which is raised up by China, and is widely accepted and recognized by other countries, and its major intellectual property is owned by our country. The Radio network controller (RNC) is the most important component of the radio access network (RAN) in the TD-SCDMA system. It handles user data transmission, system message schedule , protection of the integrity of signaling switching and other function; And it carries all network traffic in the TD-SCDMA system, determines the the availability of the TD-SCDMA network services.This thesis researches deeply the switch technology and its application in the base station controller RNC system network of TD-SCDMA. It presents a new IP switch architecture model based on the ATCA architecture and its network connection scheme in TD-SCDMA RNC system, which can perfectly adapted to the connection of logic unit of RNC system of TD-SCMDA based on L3 switch technology. And this thesis discusses TD-SCDMA system RNC switch subsystem, architecture design and engineering development from the perspective of the implementation of hardware and software and successfully implements the model in practice. On the other hand, this thesis studies the key technologies such as PCI, DMA usage in Embedded Real-Time Operating System VxWorks, and gives out an in-depth description of L3 switch software based on VxWorks.This researching result has successfully applied to the productions of TD-SCDMA system equipments in Datang Mobile Co.
