Design And Implementation Of Workflow Engine Based On Database

The Workflow Management System (WfMS) can manage every part of business process efficiently, such as business process, organization, and data and so on. The workflow engine is the core of the workflow, how to design it is the most important to system performance. As a hot direction in the Computer Support Cooperative Work (CSCW) circles, workflow technology attracts more and more attention from both industry and research communities.Because of the benefit of the WfMS in the work efficiency and standardization, there are a lot of needs in reconstructing the existed management information system, and upgrading these to WfMS.First, this paper is aimed at the status that the research is not enough in this. By studying the workflow technology, make architecture about the workflow engine based on database which is used by reconstructing and upgrading the existed MIS to WfMS.Secondly, by describing the storage construction of the process and the way of the routing selection, etc., this paper proves the feasibility and gives the whole software flow chart for implementing. At last, presents the application instance and gives the reconstruction's method and the reminded question.The designed architecture of the flow engine in this paper, meets the storage of complex process definition and routing selection, supports the object-oriented language likes C++, java, etc. By using this engine, developers can reconstruction system rapidly. It is positive for meeting user's needs and promoting the development of WfMS.
