Image zooming plays an important role in the field of image processing.Both image resolution adjustment and format conversion need the image zooming technique. Image zooming-out and enlargement( for short zoom ) are as a basic operation of image processing. What is called image zooming-out and enlargement is the distinguish rate altering.Image interpolation is used whenever one wants to change the image resolution in image display , transmission(communication ) , image analyse ,cartoon facture ,movie synthesize.Now there are a few researches on image zooming-out. While we can not get the distinct effect on image zooming-out in classical interpolation theory. Especially,when the scale-down proportion diminish,It appear the phenomena of artifacts edges and local information losing.To eliminating the detail's blur and alias, this paper promoted a self-adaptive amending algorithm of image zooming-out based on weighted averaging image sub-block. First, low-resolution image obtained by weighted averaging for image zooming-out is disposed by the way of contrast extension . Then the algorithm takes account of the influence on the whole image information by local area variance and self-adaptively amends the every pixel value of low-resolution image. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm can more effectively avoid blurring and artifacts edges than only by the method of weighted averaging for image zooming-out, and generate high quality images . Especially, the visual quality of the images for the large ratio of image zooming-out is more prominent.Because of the limitations in classical interpolation theory, ringing artifacts and edge blurring near edges will be introduced using these classical interpolation techniques.The enlargement algorithm about weighted interpolation based on the edge gradient interpolation optimized algorithm is presented in this paper.The algorithm utilizing a weighted interpolation method based on the gradient imgormation of the image.It successfully apply this algorithm to the algorithm based on the edge gradient interpolation optimized algorithm.For enlargement,we could also get the distinct effect.These two interpolation algorithms are involved in image zooming-out and enlargement. A great deal of experiment data and processed images confirmed their feasibility and the validity.
