Study And Implementation Of Wrapper In Data Integration

With the rapid development of computer networks and vigorously promote of the infomation construction, the available information resources in network are growing at an amazing rate. But these information resources are for different applications and stored in different data sources, and their content, format and managment are differents. In order to effectively use data for long term, there are needs for heterogeneous data sharing. Due to the heterogeneity of data sources which need to be integreted, such as the heterogeneity of DBMS and OS, there are needs for developing a wrapper for each involved data sources to provide a unified interface which can be called. Data format conversion of data sources are implement in wrapper and datasources provide service as concept view via wrapper. Another function of wrapper is to excute query sql string deposed by integrator and return results which can be understanded by integrator.In this paper, wrapper for the three mainstream relational database (ORACLE, DB2, SQL SERVER) is designed and implemented, following is the mainly aspects of work:1) Research to database of heterogeneous DBMS problem, mainly concentrated in the heterogeneous data type. Then proposed a common data types, and its conversion regularly to the data type of database.2) A relational database wrapper is designed and implemented and its basic function has realized.
