Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) is a communication technology that multiple antennas are set at transmitters and/or receivers. It is an important breakthrough in the area of wireless communication. The system capacity and frequency spectrum efficiency of communication systems can be improved by this technology without extra frequency bandwidth and with no additional power expenditure. MIMO is becoming a key technology of the new generation high data rate wireless mobile communication systems. MIMO technology from the most basic point-to-point MIMO technology to multi-user MIMO technology and virtual MIMO, has been developed by leaps and bounds.MIMO technology is inseparable from the pioneering work of Foschini and Telatar who use the information theory on multi-antenna system channel capacity. As well known, the channel capacity of a communications system is the limit of the transmission rate. The analysis results of capacity can provide the theoretical basis and guidance to the actual capacity communications system designed. Therefore, the MIMO system channel capacity analysis is an important and basic research topics. This paper investigates the capacity of the MIMO system, mainly concentrated in the multi-user MIMO technology and virtual MIMO Performance Analysis. There are altogether six chapters in the paper. Its main works are as follows: Chapter 3 study of the channel capacity of the piont-to-piont MIMO system (including traverse capacity and interruption capacity), compare the channel capacity in different antennasof Rayleigh fading channel ,also discussed MIMO system capacity with the simple relevant; Chapter 4 analyse of the multi-user MIMO system of two basic channel model and their capacity regions, and do some theoretical analysis and simulation in the rate of the broadcasting channel with more important practical application in different feedback circumstances, elicit a more appropriate effective Feedback form;Chapter 5 study the cooperation communication of the AD-HOC network ,which is more popular now, i.e. virtual MIMO,then analysis of the channel capacity regional in different cooperation ways.In order to validate the correctness of the theoretical results, some Monte-Carlosimulations are given in the paper.
