Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO) communication system can adapt the transmitted signal to the current channel through processing the channel state information at the transmitters(CSIT) , getting the capacity which is much more than the traditional Single Input Single Output(SISO) communication system's. But actually, it is impossible that the transmitters of the system get the prefect CSIT in the real channel of the communication system, and the feedback of the receivers of the system sending the prefect CSIT to the transmitters needs too much system overhead. Therefore, the limited feedback technology which only feedbacks a few bits but also gets the performance gain near the prefect CSIT case has become the hot research spot in recent years.The capacity of the communication system is not only the upbound of the channel throughput, but also has great influence on the system design, performance analysis of the entire system. As a result, the research on the system capacity is of great significance. This dissertation researchs on the capacity of the limited feedback wireless single-user and multi-user MIMO communication system based on the number of feedback bits, and simulates many MIMO system scenarios. The simulation results show the close relationship between the number of feedback bits and the system capacity (throughput) from both theoretical and intuitive.Firstly, the MIMO technology and the influence on MIMO system of CSIT are introduced in this dissertation; the current research status on limited feedback MIMO wireless communication systems is also introduced.Secondly, the basic theory of the MIMO channel capacity and the dynamic CSIT model are detaily introduced in the dissertation subsequently. Simulates based on the influence of the CSIT on the capacity, from the simulation results we can find that processing on the CSIT can bring capacity gain. On the basis, the dissertation researchs on the capacity under the single-user limited feedback and the multi-user limited feedback conditions, respectively.Thirdly, for the single-user MIMO system, the dissertation researchs on the different limited feedback methods, which focuses on the research of the capacity loss and the feedback number in the limited feedback MIMO system which uses the RVQ codebook, then gets the numerical upbound of the capacity, at last simulates the ergodic capacity of different limited feedback methods as well as the relationship between the capacity loss and the feedback number.At last, for the multi-user MIMO system, the dissertation nalyzes the throughput of the limited feedback multi-user MIMO system which uses the RVQ codebook, then extends the conclusions before to the arbitrary codebook cases, at last simulates the throughput of the limited feedback multi-user MIMO system.
