With the rapid development of computer technology and Internet technology, traditional display functions can not meet the modern display demands, Virtual Reality makes up the deficiency. It is very popular to use VR technique in designing districts and city plans. This paper discussed the technology of virtual reality, the techniques of modeling, the optimization of the scene and the interactivity between the people and computers, and put the rapid interactivity display of large-scale virtual scenes into practice as an example for a city house community.Considering realization of VR system, this paper discussed the Digital Techniques for Landscape Visualization, the optimization of the scene and the interactivity between the people and computers. This paper analyzed and compared Geometry-Based Modeling, Image-Based Modeling, Image-based Modeling and Rendering, and brought forward Billboard modeling technique of the trees and second modeling; realized the conformity and function optimize of system model, it included PROTO technique, the quotation technique of the example, LOD technique, MIP-MAP technique and so on, Interactivity greatly enhances the texture mapping speed and quality; realized the alternation function of virtual campus system, and then combined VRML and JavaScript to resolve this task.In the application example of the Digital Environment display, this paper designed the roaming and display of the city house community by improving the models, program and file-zipping, collision and optimization technology, get a compromise position between the accurate degree and drawing speed, and advanced the speed of the sences roaming. It is wanted to embody the creative and substantial results in the design, not only satisfying the sense of reality, but also avoiding the dynamic unaccommodated senses of observers.
