Manufacturing technology is challenged in many aspects such as material saving, energy saving at present. A significant technique named hydroforming, by which many hollow light components can be produced, is presented to balance the contrast. The products of hydroforming are widely required in the field of automobile, aviation and aerospace. A general method is presented in this paper to analyze and design the control system of hydroforming system.Firstly general information of hydroforming is listed to introduce the technique in this paper. Secondly a valve controlled non-symmetry hydraulic cylinder system model is analyzed and simulated to support the whole control system design. Thirdly a standard PID algorithm is improved by conditional integration technology so that it can be employed in the cylinder control of hydroforming system. Fourthly the hardware is constructed based on the cPCI bus interface and software is programmed and then integrated with hardware smoothly. Finally some experiments are managed to test the performance of control system.Massive testing are carried after integration of the whole manufacturing system deliberately. The results demonstrate that the design of control system is reasonable and effective.
