This paper will apply the theory of the model reference self-adaptive control system design based on the theorem of balance point stabilization in the velocity system of asymmetric cylinder controlled by symmetric valve,to make the system's output to trace the reference model's output. For using software method to make the valve controlled asymmetrical cylinder system has the ideal output, the defect such as asymmetry of the dynamic characteristic, bad stability, big over shoot and long adjusting time when we use symmetry sliding valve to control the asymmetrical cylinder has been avoided.This paper has built more precision mathematical model for the valve controlled asymmetrical cylinder system based on the simulink simulation flat, then according to actual need and combining self-adaptive control theory, we choose a mathematic model which has good performance to be the reference model of our adaptive control and adopt velocity system of asymmetric cylinder controlled by symmetric valve as controlled device to design the adaptive controller. We should consider two situations, one is the elastic load is not used in the system, in this situation, we consider the velocity system of asymmetric cylinder controlled by symmetric valve as a two order system; the other is the elastic load is used in the system, the system is three order system.The self-adaptive controller has been designed according to the simplest model. Then we can control the more precision mathematical model for the valve controlled asymmetrical cylinder system based on simulink with the self-adaptive controller. The step of the controlled system is different because of the difference of the load. We try to use the same self-adaptive controller to control the controlled device of different step. The feasibility of the control strategy has been validated through the simulation.Through the simulation, we prove that adaptive control can improve the dynamic characteristic of the asymmetrical cylinder velocity system which controlled by symmetrical valve.
