Intensity image of two-dimensional imaging laser radar does not accurately identify targets at the different distances, the range information helps discriminating objects, and so three-dimensional imaging laser radar to improve the recognition capability is effective. In this paper, Based on the analysis of a typical 3D imaging laser radar system, range-gated technology which can be effectively curbed the back scattering light was applied to the 3D imaging laser radar, proposed range-gated array detect 3D imaging laser radar program.This paper introduces the principle of range-gated array detect 3D imaging laser radar system. ICCD drive circuit and delay circuit had been designed and tested. Radar distance equation was given in theory. According to device parameters the greatest distance of the radar system was calculated, the resolution of distance is 1.5m.This paper introduces the range-gated array detect 3D imaging laser radar system set up by us, and based on this system completed principle experimental study. The first experiment is on the indoor targets in series, 30m to 37m away, and spacing at 2m. We acquire strength Image, the results show system meet the design requirements. Based on this, we conducted imaging experiment. The experiment is on the indoor targets in series, 35m to 45m away, and spacing at 2m. Use a binary algorithm and centroid algorithm to create 3D image. The results of the comparison binary algorithm are optimal algorithm for system. Range image of the targets with clear levels and sharp edge are acquired. Experimental results show system is in good working with target in range of 45m and with range resolution of 1.7m.In summary, the program of range gated array detect 3D imaging laser radar is feasible. The experimental system of range gated array detects 3D imaging laser radar we designed work steadily, meet the design requirements.
