Tracking Origin Of Peer-to-Peer System

P2P is abbreviated from "Peer-to-Peer". It is a distributed network. The participants of the network share part of their hardware resources (processing power, storage capacity, network connectivity, printers, etc.). They can access the resources (services and content), at the same time they can provide the resources to others.File-sharing is currently the most important application of the P2P technology. Majority of the P2P downloading software are improved on the basis of BitTorrent, which is the most typical representative. As a result, P2P downloading technology is called "BT download".BT downloading, which is widely used in software distribution and information sharing, currently become the main downloading form, for its high speed, simple deployment and less resource requirements. The flow of BT has become one of the main application types that consume a large fraction of Internet traffic and the proportion is growing. However, such as piracy the intellectual property problem in network has been abundant with the development of BT downloading, which results in intellectual property protecting more difficult. We can not make restrictions on the flow of BT completely because of its advantages in the distribution of large documents. Pirated movies or software are often spread rapidly within a few hours after released. If we can find out the first upload person (origin), and take prompt measures, the speed of the illegal file diffuse will be greatly reduced. This technology is very few currently. The similar technology appeared in the United States and Hong Kong but did not publish the details. BitTorrent does not hide in the user information hiding when the design. The track of the origin has the important practical value.In this paper, by analyzing the BitTorent source code deeply, we present a technology of the track of the information publisher (origin), improved BT download system in order to trace the origin and set up the system in the actual network to verify its validity. Specifically, on the basis of BitTorrent, we continue to use the download client, improve the procedures of the Tracker server. We add a function module to identify and storage the origin information, and another function module to transfer the origin information file. We also design graphical user interface for the managers to collect the origin information file on Tracker servers and find out the origin in the current system with the Torrent file. Finally, we set up this system in the actual network. Our test proves that it could find out the origin in the system effectively.But this approach can't be used in the BT download with Distributed Hash Table (DHT). We could find out the origin in the current system only with the Torrent file. Semantic query can not be achieved, so the system need to be further improved.
