The Research On Protection Of Intellectual Property Reports On Newspaper

With the development of science and technology, in order to protect the interests ofproperty owners, people create the intellectual property system and keep it improving.After the accession to the WTO，the intellectual property protection has gradually rise,and the intellectual property protection related report also become a big focus ofdomestic newspapers. Research on China’s intellectual property protection andsummarize its regularity, is helpful to improve intellectual property protection, to makeintellectual property protection reports more functional on spreading knowledge,explaining and educating, and guiding the public opinion.We adopt the text analysis method, in specific, to study samples from People’sDaily, China Science Daily, and China Intellectual Property News from January2008to December2012. We focus on the amount of reports, the report object, sources, genre,report tendency, and figure out the basic statistics and percentage to sum up theregulation. In addition, on the base of data statistics, we summarize the rules of theintellectual property protection reports on newspapers, and found most of the reportsconcerning the national economy and people’s livelihood, taking moremacro-perspective, strengthening the consciousness on intellectual property protectionreporting, etc.The reports of intellectual property protection develops quickly in China. Wedivide intellectual property protection into four phases: the beginning period under themarket economy development; after the accession to the WTO period; the prosperousperiod of strategic program implementation. In the first stage, most of the intellectualproperty protection report concerns the national policies and regulations; in the secondstage, the report form is over-simple which maims focus on national economy andenterprise development analysis after joining the WTO; in the third stage, there aremore intellectual property protection report and in-depth reporting.With the accumulation of experience at news reports of intellectual propertyprotection, reporters in China have their own unique skills in writing news reports.After thorough analysis, we summarize the reporting techniques of intellectualproperty protection report on China’s newspapers. We take real examples to exploreintellectual property protection reporting techniques from the aspects of interview,language and writing.The journalists interview on the spot where the news happens to get the most comprehensive information, and then write a compelling reports; When professionalreports of intellectual property appear, the journalists interview the press, experts andthe scholars and so on. At the same time the reporters interpret professional knowledgeand information in the form of dialogue interviews with experts. The expression ofintellectual property protection reports are very accurate, and their languages arecalmly used and constantly updated. On the other hand, by using multi-purpose data,graphics, photos, the reports not only present detailed information, also increased theinteresting of the readers and accuracy of the report.Yet the reports of intellectual property protection have take great progress in China,there are some problems need to be solved. We conclude the insufficiency of theintellectual property protection reports on newspapers, which is lack of emphasis,public interaction and in-depth reporting. Thus, we put forward some strategies toimprove intellectual property protection reporting: making peace between reportingand propagandizing, improving journalists’ professional quality, strengthening planningand daily report; taking the advantages of new media and forming intellectual propertyculture.
