Research On Wireless Sensor Networks In Smart Home

Wireless Sensor Networks which are first used in the military field have been rapidly developing in recent years. With the hardware and other related technical progresses, and with further indepth researches, wireless sensor networks are used more widely. Smart home connects the subsystems of the house and makes them a comfortable living environment.This paper discusses the use of wireless sensors in smart home.The routing protocol is an important part in the wirelss sensor network research. It has an important impact on the energy consumption and the lifecycle of wireless sensor networks. The wireless sensor network is an application-oriented network, which is used differently in different environments. This paper presents a routing protocol which could be used effectively in the smart home environment.The routing protocol this paper presents, depending on the application requirement, combines the location and grouping methods to make sure the message transmiting directions. Every node has multiple next hops, so has multiple routes for transmiting. When deciding which route to choose, this protocol considers the node energy on the path iteratively in order to balance energy consumption of every node and extend the entire life cycle of the network. This paper analyzes the principle and process of the routing protocol and also gives solutions for some problems in the protocol. This paper proves that a routing protocol of wireless sensor networks designed particularly for a special environment is more effective. This paper analyzes the simulation results of the proposed algorithm performance on NS platform.At last, this paper puts foward a concrete implement of wireless sensor networks in smart home. This paper gives two methods of achieving localization using wireless sensors in smart home, which include imprecise localization of cars and precise localization of things in the room.
