Repeater is a relay amplification equipment using the same frequency,which receives signal from radio base station or mobile station and transmits it through relay and amplification.For using repeater,the aim of achieving the coverage of blind spots and shadow will be realized.So Repeater is a low-cost, and quick-effect equipment which is used to fill gaps in regional telecommunication network and the extension of coverage in cell.Digital Repeater came forth with the development of wireless communication , as well as large-scale application in the last two years.In particular, as the depth coverage of GSM and widely using CDMA , manufacturers noticeably increased and Repeater with all sorts of figures emerged. Digital Repeater has become an important equipment in wireless network coverage.CPRI(Common Public Radio Interface) is an universal interface standard used in wireless base stations for mobile systems. The main application of this standard is between the Radio Equipment Control and Radio Equipment so that interface is universal. For the Telecom Operators and Equipment Manufacturers ,equipment selection and equipment manufacturers are more convenient, and also conducive to the development of new technology.IEEE802.3 standard is about LAN of Chain topology made by the IEEE (Electrical and Electronic Engineers Association). IEEE802.3 recommends Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) and physical layer protocol.This paper is divided into two major parts. First, Repeater design based on CPRI . The main task is form CPRI frame and de-form CPRI frame to realize some functions of the transmitter and receiver in REC and the RE including rx_eth module,rxif_eth module,rx_iq module,rx_synch module,tx_mux module,tx_synch module,tx_cntl module and so on. In addition, the network of Repeater will be designed based on the IEEE 802.3.This paper will design the conversion between MAC frame and PHY data stream,also CSMA/CD.Through linking one REC and some REs by Chain topology, the data will be transmitted in network.
