Research And Implementation Of Scalable Workflow Framework

Workflow technology has been a new hotspot in the area of computer application since 1990. It is very important to study the technology in depth, since it can significantly improve the information standard and transaction operation efficiency of enterprises, and reduce the transaction cost, hence make them more competitive.In this paper, the origin and evolution of workflow technology is introduced at first. After that, workflow definition, workflow model, workflow implementation design these three aspects are gradually introduced beginning with an analysis on a simple workflow example, and meanwhile our opinions and betterments on these three aspects are proposed. From workflow definition on, we propose our definition of workflow based on some current workflow definition. After that we select Petri-Net as the foundation of workflow model based on the definition we proposed before. After we selected the foundation of workflow model, we extend the definition of Petri-Net in order to make it adapt for the agility of workflow, as a result, a workflow model based on Petri-Net the definition of which can be extended is proposed. After that a scalable workflow framework based on this model is also proposed, and meanwhile it is introduced in details in this paper and an implementation based on this framework is implemented though it is not so perfect.In the end, the conclusion and the future of workflow research and the framework design proposed in this paper are given.
