With the development of information technology and managementtheory, workflow technology becomes a new hot topic in the area ofcomputer application. The study on this technology can contribute a lot toan enterprise's improvement in information standard and operationefficiency.On the basis of summarizing current research achievements and theirshortages, the paper makes beneficial research and practice in workflowmodeling and its enactment by analyzing workflow modeling anddemonstrating some Petri net theories. To be specific, contents that thethesis studies can be shown in the following aspects: Firstly, due to thepoor expression ability of workflow model based on Petri net, theworkflow metal model is mapped to WF-net through modeling its basicelements which are defined by Workflow Management Coalition.Secondly, on the basis of current Petri net theories, a series of completedreduction methods which accord with WF-net properties are gained, andthen the scale of WF-net is reduced effectively with the application ofthese rules, and in this case the model is easier to be analyzed. Thirdly,through using generalized stochastic Petri net, time conception isintroduced to WF-net, and a new method and theoretic base is putforward to analyze the performance of workflow effectively. Finally, therealization schemes of workflow management system based on Petri netis put forward.The process modeling based on Petri net, not only can describe theproblem of asynchrony, concurrency and resource sharing in businessprocess, but also can make the soundness and performance of workflowmodel be analyzed effectively.
