The paper mainly does research on the application of workflow modeling and workflow simulation technique in GPR (Government Process Reengineering). The framework of this paper is as follows: the first part of this paper is about foundation theories, introducing the creation of GPR, principles of applying GPR, general methods of implementing GPR and the importance of GPR in the development of E-Gov; then it gives some introduction on definition of workflow and information system of workflow management; the second part is the centre part of this paper, which gives details on the application of workflow modeling and workflow simulation technique in GPR, then takes the process of official recruitment in government as an example to make practical analyses by using process analyzing and optimization software-iGrafx . Finally it gets the conclusion. In chapter four, the writer introduces some basic knowledge about the mathematical theory of Petri Net and WFPN (Workflow Petri Net) so that the reader could understand this paper better. In this paper, it takes the general process of official recruitment in government as an example and makes emphasis on the application of workflow modeling and workflow simulation technique in GPR, which leads to the conclusion and could provide help for the government to optimize and reengineer the process by using this technique, that's significant today. At the end of this paper, it shows the outcome of the research and suggests the direction of further exploration.
