Information is the kernel of modern logistics and the characteristic for the development of modern logistics is widely to use the information technology. With kinds of information technology integrated, the logistics information system can process mass of data which is generated in each procedure, including transportation, storage, loading and unloading, packing, machining etc. Therefore, the foundation of logistics information system can process logistics information speedily, accurately, smartly and roundly, also can greatly improve the competitive ability for the logistics enterprises in China,and it is also very important and necessary to accelerate the development of Chinese logistics industry.Some information systems have been built up and applied in an enterprise organization, but they only play a limited role in few sections and not having a great effect on the organization itself. A trend has been formed about the research and development of information system in close combination with the enterprise organization.It is very important to study and establish IIS suitable for the enterprise organization shortly in the period of high-speed economic development.Consequently, it is of important current significance that makes full use of the virtuosity technology for information system integration, digital communication, network and data collection to constitute an integrated humanistic container logistics information system and implement the real-time tracing for the state information of container. The proposed container yard integrated information management system provides the internal container operation management, external information dissemination and sharing of information resources with a complete container yard solutions.Firstly, the article introduces the background for the generation of the logistics information system. The conclusion that is highly necessary to study modern logistics information system according to the study of the current status of the foreign and domestic logistics and logistics enterprises.Secondly, the information system integration theory was deeply studied, also, the development and technology of integration were discussed in details. A multiphase methodology for information system integration was presented, that is component technology, middleware technology, and Web Services technology.Thirdly, study on the enterprise information architecture (EIA) and on the architerture of IIS.The author studies EIA aiming at the intergration and introduces the concept of enterprise environment based on the seven-hierarchy theory of an information system with wide social nurture.The author offers a new architecture model of the relation between hierarchy and IIS by means of one-to-one three-tier Client/Server, information architecture (IA) and integration hierarchy.Finally,the empirical study. Taking logistics information system of Tianjin Port container yard as an example, the article puts forward specific building design and the realization of the idea about the container yard integrated information management system. First, it discusses in detail the contents of the system functional modules, and analyses the structure and features of system. Second, from the use of the technology, it discusses detailedly the three-tier structure, framework, GPRS communications, GPS positioning, enterprise portal, network, security, and so on.
