Multifunction wideband phased array radar can provide acquisition, tracking, imaging, discrimination, fire control support and kill assessments of incoming ballistic missiles. It also can be the ground based radar for space objects surveillance.Multifunction wideband phased array radar operates at X band with short wavelength. So it can acquire high range and angle precision and realize wide band even to 1000MHz. The radar also has the ability of electromechanical scan to cover bigger airspace. It' s the multifunction radar that would perform high range resolution profiling and ISAR.The project of multifunction wideband phased array radar's integral technology aims to the developing of practical multifunction wideband phased array radar. According that the project mainly researches some key techniques and integrates them into a system. The key techniques consist of the T/R modules, feed nets with wideband and big angle scanning ability, wideband signal generating and processing and radar imaging. So the project will develop testing phased array radar that electrical scanning in one dimension and mechanical scanning in two dimensions. Based on it some researches of key techniques and integrating technique can be done. It also can validate the feasibility of this kind of system and do some functional tests as well. The project will resolve the system integrating and testing techniques and have a breakthrough in the development of multifunction wideband phased radar. The outcome of the project will establish the technical base for the multifunction wideband phased radar developing and satisfy the requirements of the precision measurement and target discrimination especially for ballistic missile countermeasures and counter-coutnermeasures.
