With the rapid development of 4C technology (including Computer technology, Control technology, Communication technology and CRT technology) and the constant improvement of the living standard, the Smart Home Industry has occupied an important position in modern life. It has become a hot problem to make the home controller access internet through embedded devices which is studied by the present embedded system. In the traditional control technology, people have to use special lines to monitor the local equipments. But nowadays people can realize the remote function easily by connecting the Embedded Web Server to the Internet.By using the solution of 8-bit microprocessor embedded internet platform, a Smart Home Controller with low prices and high usability has been designed for ordinary families. The system chooses a Dual-CPU control strategy to divide the controller into Embedded Web Server module and Local Controller module. This method not only solves the problem on the lack of resources in MCS-51 Series MCU, but also provides a convenience for system expansion and the second development.The Embedded Web Server module takes W78E516B and RTL8019AS as the core-processing unit, and realizes a Tidy TCP/IP Stack by combining the concrete requirement of an Embedded Web Server. According to complete the dynamical interactive function to the Web browser with CGI (Common Gateway Interface), the user can visit and control this system by standard Web browser (such as Internet Explorer) in anytime at anyplace.On the basis of the Embedded Web Server module, the Local Controller module which uses AT89S52 as the control core has been designed. The Local Controller includes communication module, parameter collection module, infrared reception module,LCD module and the module of drive control. It not only can accomplish the general control, but also can communicate with the Embedded Web Server module to receive the control messages. It disposes and returns the correctly parameters and realizes the remote function of the Smart Home Controller.At last, the whole system has been tested in Ethernet. The testing result shows that the system operates easily, steadily and has a good development and application prospect. The subject has gotten the expected effect finally.
